Borobudur is one of the most beautiful Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia. I was here with my wife Conny many years ago.
The temple complex with pyramid is located near Yogyakarta on the island of Java in Indonesia. This magical and sacred place still fascinates me so much that I would like to paint it now. My oil painting shows the view of Borobudur in the mountains of the island. At the time I took pictures and a small sketch. But the shadows never voted here. Nevertheless, I stick to my sketch and paint the temple as I felt it: magical, mystical, spiritual.
